Bongani Msimanga
Bongani founded Croyance with a vision to build an independent, high-integrity sustainability advisory rooted in African realities and global standards. He leads the firm's strategic direction, client relationships, and thought leadership across all practice areas.
He holds academic qualifications across Science (Physics and Chemistry); Chemical Engineering; Education, and Sustainable Development — culminating in a Master's degree in the discipline. He achieved advanced training at international institutions including Cambridge University, Oxford University, IMD in Lausanne, and RENAC in Berlin, covering climate change, sustainable finance, and green hydrogen.
His professional journey spans education, environmental and social governance, and commercial and development finance. He designed and implemented ESG frameworks across investment portfolios, conducted ESG due diligences, monitored ESG performance, and collaborated with global development financial institutions such as the IFC, AfDB, KfW, and the NDB, to align to international standards.
In driving sustainable cities and communities, Bongani works at the intersection of multiple fields — collaborating with urban planners, engineers, economists, sociologists, environmental scientists, architects, and public health practitioners. His work focuses on aligning ESG integration with long-term enterprise value and responsible growth.
